After surprisingly appearing almost a year ago, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is officially available now on mobile devices. The spiritual successor to Fallout Shelter sees players overseeing their kingdom where one day in real life equates to a full year in the game.Last month, Bethesda revealed the release date for The Elder Scrolls: Castles, which can be downloaded on iOS or Google Play. In addition, pre-registration was open at that time, with people who did so able to claim free rewards for the mobile title. The list of goodies contains: 100 gems, a Dynasty XP boost for 10 minutes, legendary pack, three banner decorations, and the legendary subject, Ulfric Stormcloak. Bethesda notes players must reach Dynasty level 25 before October 10 to get these gifts. Originally, The Elder Scrolls: Castles released out of nowhere on Google Play in September 2023. It was basically shadow-dropped and marked as an early-access title without any sort of official announcement. Gamescom has already unleashed new trailers and game reveals, but for some players, the big attraction was a new Xbox Adaptive Joystick. Microsoft’s new controller is designed to help players with limited mobility jump back into the world of video games.Via the Xbox official site, the Xbox Adaptive Joystick is a simplified version of the standard Xbox controller that has four regular buttons, as well as two more buttons that handle the bumper and trigger commands. However, the thumbstick is truly customizable for the needs of individual gamers. Microsoft has already designed a number of different thumbsticks that can be 3D printed and inserted into the Xbox Adaptive Joystick. At least one of the options allows players to use their chin to control the movement if their hands aren’t able to do so. Monster Hunter Wilds will allow players to mix and match armor pieces from both genders, regardless of the character they create. Revealed during the Monster Hunter Wilds developer livestream during Gamescom, Capcom showed a character equipping both male and female armor pieces from the same armor set, where they confirmed the feature would be in the new entry.While this might not sound like a big deal, this is the first time in the Monster Hunter series that armor isn’t locked to your created character’s gender. In previous entries, there were different designs for each armor set: one for male characters and one for female. While the two different sets will still be present in Monster Hunter Wilds, you will no longer be forced into one set or the other. Instead, you can choose which version of the armor set you want for each individual piece.
