As DC Studios co-head James Gunn reshapes the DC Universe, scuttlebutt continues to swirl about superhero castings. One such rumor about the next Batman was apparently so far out there that Gunn decided to stomp it out with a very clear word: “Bullshit.”That was Gunn’s response on Threads, after a deleted post stated that DC Studios “wants a middle-aged Batman.” Logically, the debunked rumor doesn’t seem far-fetched, since Bruce Wayne will team up with his son, Damien, in The Brave and the Bold. Gunn previously stated that “Damien Wayne is my favorite Robin.” The project will be inspired by Grant Morrison’s comic-book run and will serve as an introduction to the Bat-family in the new DC Universe.Batman's Animated Evolution, From The Batman/Superman Hour to Caped CrusaderSee MoreThis isn’t the first time Gunn has decided to debunk a Dark Knight rumor, by the way. In August, Gunn squashed rumors that there was a video game in the works based on The Batman. That franchise is separate from Gunn’s new DC Universe and set within its own world, with Robert Pattinson portraying the Caped Crusader. Currently, HBO’s The Penguin is in the middle of its limited-series run. The TV show wil…

Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami founded Tango Gameworks in 2010 before leaving the company last year. Around the time of Mikami’s departure, Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush became a critically acclaimed hit. Now, Mikami has revealed that he thought Hi-Fi Rush had secured Tango Gameworks’ future before Microsoft shut down the studio earlier this year.”I had thought the studio would be safe as long as they continued to make Hi-Fi Rush games,” explained Mikami during an interview with IGN. “That’s one of the reasons I left Tango Gameworks. So I was surprised when the studio was closed down.”The good news is that Tango Gameworks’ demise was short-lived. A few months after Microsoft made its decision, Tango Gameworks was purchased by Krafton, which retained the rights for Hi-Fi Rush and any future games in the franchise. Krafton also retained at least half of Tango Gameworks’ employees who hadn’t already secured other jobs. That gave Mikami a greater sense of hope for his former company.”Now Krafton has taken over the business, so I feel like it worked out well in the end,” said Mikami. “I was reminded that if you make a good game, someone will pick it up. The hard work of the Hi-Fi Ru…

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake comes out in October, and the developer has shown off some interesting extras on social media. A recent post revealed an optional no-UI mode, as well as a so-called “’90s filter” that adds large amounts of film grain, color correction, and other on-screen elements.

As you can see in the above post, the two modes work together to create an aesthetic that is highly reminiscent of the original Silent Hill 2. Copious film grain and fog are two of Silent Hill’s defining aesthetic traits, and the game did not feature any UI elements–not even a health bar. But as pedants were quick to point out, the name of this ’90s filter would seem to be a misnomer, considering that the original Si…
